These soft and flavorful baked apple cider donuts are infused with warm spices and coated in cinnamon sugar. Perfect for a cozy autumn morning with a cup of coffee or tea!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups apple cider (reduced to ½ cup)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup melted butter
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
2️⃣ In a small saucepan, simmer apple cider until reduced to ½ cup, then let cool.
3️⃣ In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
4️⃣ In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and cooled apple cider.
5️⃣ Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
6️⃣ Pipe or spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about ¾ full.
7️⃣ Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
8️⃣ Let donuts cool for 5 minutes, then brush with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.

✔️ No donut pan? Use a muffin tin and bake for a few extra minutes!
