  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • ½ tsp cumin

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ cup diced onion

  • ½ cup salsa

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 4 large flour tortillas

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)


Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion, salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder until browned. Drain excess grease.

  • Stir in salsa and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheese.

  • Spoon the beef mixture onto each tortilla, fold the sides, and roll tightly into a burrito shape.

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry chimichangas until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Use Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese for extra flavor.
