- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
- 4 cups cubed bread (French bread or sandwich bread)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional)
- ½ tsp dried parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Sausage:
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Mix the Egg Mixture:
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Assemble the Casserole:
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer bread cubes at the bottom, then add cooked sausage and shredded cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
- Chill Overnight:
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Bake & Serve:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until golden and set in the center.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm!
