  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • ½ cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Brown the Beef

    • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
    • Add ground beef and onion, cook until beef is browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Add Cabbage & Broth

    • Stir in garlic, cabbage, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
  • Season & Simmer

    • Add rice, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf.
    • Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve & Enjoy

    • Remove bay leaf, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
