Cinnamon- Sugar Cruffins with Nutella: A Sweet Delight

  • Author: amelia
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 cruffins 1x

Description

These cruffins are a game-changer in the world of pastries. With the rich flavor of Nutella tucked inside and a coating of cinnamon sugar, every bite is a sweet, flaky delight. Perfect for brunch, dessert, or a special treat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cruffins:

  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry

  • 1/4 cup Nutella

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with muffin liners.

  • Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating: In a small bowl, mix together the 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon. Set aside.

  • Prepare the Cruffin Dough: Roll out the crescent dough or puff pastry on a clean surface. Brush with melted butter, then spread a thin layer of Nutella on top of the dough.

  • Roll and Slice the Dough: Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar evenly over the Nutella layer. Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log, then slice it into 6-8 pieces.

  • Shape the Cruffins: Place each dough piece into the muffin tin, standing upright like a muffin. Gently press down on the dough to make it fit.

  • Bake: Bake the cruffins in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  • Coat in Cinnamon-Sugar: Once the cruffins are out of the oven, immediately brush them with a little more melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

  • Serve and Enjoy: Let the cruffins cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm, and for an extra indulgence, drizzle with more Nutella!

Notes

  • Puff pastry is recommended for extra flakiness, but crescent dough works wonderfully too.

  • You can add a dollop of Nutella on top of each cruffin before baking for an extra gooey center.

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days. Reheat briefly in the oven for best results.
