A bold and buttery pasta dish featuring tender chicken tossed in a zesty, garlicky cowboy butter sauce with a hint of spice. This creamy, indulgent linguine is a must-try for pasta lovers!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Cowboy Butter Sauce:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz linguine

  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

  • ½ cup heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

Instructions

  • Cook linguine according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.

  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and cook chicken until golden and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes per side). Remove from the pan and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add melted butter, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, parsley, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and let simmer for 2 minutes.

  • Return chicken to the skillet and toss in the cowboy butter sauce.

  • Add cooked linguine, Parmesan cheese, and a splash of reserved pasta water (or heavy cream for extra richness). Toss to coat.

  • Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley.

Notes

  • Swap chicken for shrimp or steak for a different protein option.

  • Adjust spice level by increasing or decreasing red pepper flakes.
