These crispy salmon bites are coated in a spicy seasoning and pan-fried to perfection, creating a deliciously crispy outside with a tender and flavorful inside. A fantastic dish for a quick meal or appetizer!

  • 1 lb (450g) fresh salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tsp honey (optional, for balance)

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

  • Lemon wedges, for serving


Instructions

  • In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Dip the salmon pieces into buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon pieces in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sriracha sauce, and honey (if using). Drizzle over the crispy salmon bites and toss to coat.

  • Serve the salmon bites hot, garnished with chopped cilantro and lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less cayenne pepper or sriracha sauce.

  • If you want a crunchier coating, double coat the salmon pieces (dip in buttermilk and flour mixture twice).

  • For a lower-fat option, bake the salmon bites at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes until crispy.
