  • 8 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or ground beef
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or 1 cup crushed tomatoes for a red sauce)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta: Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook Beef: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Make Sauce: Add remaining 1 tbsp oil and sauté garlic and onion. Pour in beef broth and scrape browned bits from the pan. Stir in cream (or crushed tomatoes), Parmesan, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Combine: Return beef to the pan, add cooked pasta, and toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Enjoy warm!
