Ingredients
Scale
- 500 g ground beef
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or jasmine)
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
- Add vegetables and seasonings: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in the grated ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, and rice vinegar. Mix well to combine.
- Simmer: Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the flavors to meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed (add more soy sauce or gochujang for extra flavor).
- Serve: Spoon the beef mixture over a bowl of cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of gochujang or add red pepper flakes.
- Add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or shredded carrots for extra nutrients and color.
