Ingredients
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
-
1 cup chocolate chips
-
12 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos), roughly chopped
-
1/2 cup heavy cream (for the cream filling)
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal of the brownies.
-
-
Prepare the brownie batter:
-
In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
-
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
-
Stir in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until smooth and no dry spots remain.
-
-
Add chocolate chips and cookies:
-
Fold in the chocolate chips and the roughly chopped cookies. You want a nice distribution of the cookie pieces throughout the batter.
-
-
Bake the brownies:
-
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
-
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). Be careful not to overbake for a fudgy texture.
-
-
Make the cream filling (optional but delicious):
-
In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the heavy cream until it starts to simmer.
-
Pour the cream over the remaining cookies and gently crush them into a soft cream filling, or use the ready-made cream from the sandwich cookies.
-
-
Cool and Serve:
-
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. If desired, drizzle the cream filling over the top for added indulgence before serving.
-
Notes
-
For extra flavor, add a few chocolate chips on top of the batter before baking.
-
If you prefer a sweeter brownie, feel free to add more sugar to taste.
-
You can top the cooled brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a super indulgent treat!
