Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz pasta (such as spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta:
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water, and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
- Season with salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
3️⃣ Sauté the Garlic and Onion:
- Add onion to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce:
- Pour in beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
5️⃣ Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
- If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
6️⃣ Finish and Serve:
- Stir in parmesan cheese and adjust seasoning to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
