The Italian Grinder Sandwich is a hearty and flavorful sub, packed with layers of deli meats, fresh veggies, and tangy Italian dressing. Perfect for lunch or dinner, this sandwich is a true crowd-pleaser!

- 4 sub rolls or hoagie buns
- 1/2 lb sliced Genoa salami
- 1/2 lb sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 lb sliced ham
- 1/2 lb sliced provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced banana peppers
- 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
- 1/4 cup Italian dressing (or more to taste)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Slice the sub rolls horizontally but not all the way through, leaving one side intact.
- Drizzle a small amount of olive oil on the inside of the rolls (optional) and then drizzle about a tablespoon of Italian dressing on each side.
- Layer the meats (salami, pepperoni, and ham) and cheese (provolone) on the bottom half of each roll.
- Add the shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, banana peppers, and black olives.
- Drizzle a little more Italian dressing on top and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Close the sandwiches, press down gently, and slice them into halves or thirds.
- Serve immediately, or wrap them tightly in parchment paper for an on-the-go meal.
Notes
- For added flavor, toast the sandwich in the oven for 5-7 minutes to melt the cheese.
- You can customize with additional veggies like cucumbers, bell peppers, or spinach.
