Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or ramen)
- 2 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp chili paste (optional for heat)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Noodles: Prepare noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
3️⃣ Flavor the Beef: Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet with the beef, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce: Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and chili paste (if using). Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5️⃣ Thicken the Sauce: Add the cornstarch mixture and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
6️⃣ Combine the Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
7️⃣ Serve & Garnish: Serve the Mongolian beef noodles in bowls, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
✔️ For extra vegetables, toss in some sliced bell peppers or broccoli when cooking the beef.
✔️ If you want more heat, increase the chili paste or add some red pepper flakes.
