Rattlesnake Pasta is a creamy, spicy, and indulgent dish that combines tender pasta with a rich, zesty sauce, and juicy chicken or shrimp. Infused with a kick of spice from jalapeños and a creamy texture, it’s the perfect comfort food with a bit of heat!
Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta

1 lb chicken breast or shrimp, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
2–3 jalapeños, sliced (adjust to spice preference)

1 cup heavy cream
-
1 cup chicken broth
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt & black pepper, to taste

Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish
Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Chicken/Shrimp:

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

Add chicken or shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned and cooked through, then set aside.

Prepare the Sauce:

In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

Add the jalapeños, and cook for another minute.

Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine.

Bring to a simmer and let cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Combine Pasta & Sauce:

Stir in the Parmesan cheese, and season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Add the cooked pasta and chicken or shrimp, tossing to coat everything in the creamy sauce.

Serve & Garnish:

Serve the pasta in bowls, and garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley.
